Several events are being held in Loddon, Chedgrave and the surrounding villages to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June 2012.
Below is a preliminary list of events; all events are subject to change.
Friday 1st June
Langley with Hardley Social Club are planning a celebration in the evening
7 pm Loddon Mill Arts – comedy night
Saturday 2nd June
Loddon & District Business Association competitions 2-5th June:
- Royal Scarecrow Festival, Loddon & Chedgrave
- Swap shops treasure hunt, Loddon & Chedgrave
Lomax Antiques Fair is being held at Langley School from the 2-4th June
10am – 4pm Jubilee Hall, Chet Valley (All Saints) Patchworkers Exhibition
2 – 6 pm Jubilee Hall, BBQ, Parravanni’s ice cream, licensed bar, tea & cakes, dancing displays, childrens races, dog show, craft stalls, scouts & guides stalls and loads more.
6 – late Jubilee Hall, Loddon, Open Air Music Concert featuring Tickled Pink (RnB/Motown), The Actor and the Peach (acoustic duo), new talent Maisie (think Adele) and Simon (Elvis fans won’t be disappointed)
Sunday 3rd June
This is the day of the Big Lunch (street parties across Britain) and of the Thames Pageant
12 Noon Parade from Holy Trinity Church and back.
1 pm Civil service at Holy Trinity Church involving everyone in the community.
2 pm Picnic in the Fire Station meadow, everyone bringing their own picnics, tables and chairs.
5 – 8 pm Jubilee Hall, Loddon, Princess & Prince Charming Disco Party, prizes for the best costumes
9 – late Jubilee Hall, Loddon, Diamond Club Night, glitz and glamour to celebrate the Diamon Jubilee in style
Mon 4th June
12 noon – 3pm Chedgrave street party
2 pm Full peal of bells – three hours! Holy Trinity Church, Loddon, during the afternoon.
4 pm Crowns and Cakes, Church Rooms, Chedgrave
7 pm – late Large TV with Jubilee events and Beer Tent, The White Horse, Chedgrave
8 pm – late Jubilee Hall, Loddon, Chrissey Stone, Hits of the Decades
10 pm Beacon The Pits, Chedgrave
