Women’s Keep Fit for the over 60s

This group, which has been running since January 2001, provides exercise to music for women aged 60 plus.  It is run by Joan Garrod, a former teacher and qualified and insured keep-fit instructor.

The exercises are not aerobic, but exercise all the major joint and muscle groups and are primarily designed to keep people fit and supple.  Most of the exercises are performed standing, though people may sit if they prefer.  There is no ‘floor work’.
Due attention is paid to people with particular health problems, such as arthritis, and new members are asked to complete a health form and to check with their doctor before joining.

The classes run all the year round, except for Bank Holidays and a short break in the summer.  The club is a very sociable affair, and as well as the keep-fit classes, there are also regular lunches for members and friends at local hostelries.

Where do we meet?

In the large hall at the Jubilee Hall, George Lane, Loddon.

When do we meet?

Every Friday afternoon.
Classes start at 2.0 p.m. and last just over an hour.  After that, we sit and have a cup of tea and a natter!

How much does it cost?

There is no annual membership fee.  Each session costs £3.00, payable on attendance.
New members are given the first class free, so that they can judge whether it suits their requirements.
